Dr. Hasuli Perera

Head of Business School

BBusCom (Monash), PhD (Monash)

Dr. Hasuli Perera graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (First Class Honours), majoring in Management and International Business, and was recognized in the Dean’s Honour List. She went on to pursue a PhD at Monash University in Organizational Behaviour.

Dr. Hasuli teaches a number of modules across different levels. These include Human Capital Management for first-year students, Managing Across Cultures for second-year students, and Authentic Leadership, Business Ethics, and Change and Transformation for final-year Business students.Prior to joining APIIT, she was Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead of the MSc in Business and Organisational Psychology degree awarded by Coventry University at its partner institute in Sri Lanka.

Research is her true passion and forte, and she enjoys helping students discover the same. Her primary research focuses on the employee-organization relationship in the international context, with a particular focus on psychological contracts and expatriate management. Her recent papers have been published in top-ranked academic journals such as Human Resource Management (Wiley) and The International Journal of Human Resource Management. Having supervised a number of student research projects in the fields of HRM and OB, her research portfolio now extends to employee well-being and career-related behaviors of students. Outside the academic curriculum, she encourages students to pursue their interests to ensure holistic development. To this end, she plays the role of Patron of the APIIT Toastmasters Club.

S C Kaluarachchi

Senior Lecturer

 BA (Econ) (Peradeniya), MA (Econ)

A resourceful professional with more than 40 years of progressive experience as a senior lecturer in the higher education field, and more than 12 years of experience as the Head of Business School at APIIT Sri Lanka. Having completed his first degree in the field of Economics at Peradeniya University in 1979 he joined NIBM as a Lecturer and progressed to the Director Management Development at NIBM, where he served until 2007.

He obtained a post graduate diploma in Regional Industrial Development in 1984 from RVB in the Netherlands and a post graduate diploma in Economics from the University of Colombo in 1985. He obtained his Masters in Economics in 1992. He has participated in a number of training workshops abroad and has also contributed his services as a Management Consultant during his career at NIBM. 

During the period 2001 to 2003, he had the opportunity to work as the Deputy Director – Monitoring & Evaluation and Management Information Systems in a World Bank funded project implemented by Ministry of Housing and Plantation Infrastructure.

His areas of specialisations are in the fields of Economics, Statistics, Operations Management, Service Management, Project Management, International Business, Human Resource Management / Development, Computer Applications in Business, Productivity Improvement, Training and Development.

Shalini Kaduwela

Lecturer

Shalini Kaduwela is a motivated and a qualified educator with over 9 years of experience in teaching English Language for undergraduates in the fields of EAP (English for Academic Purposes), ESP (English for Specific Purposes) and EGP (English for General Purposes). She graduated from the University of Peradeniya and worked for 3 years at the English Language Teaching Unit of the same University. Thereafter, she joined APIIT Sri Lanka as a Lecturer in English where she has been teaching for the past 6 years.

She is very passionate about Second Language teaching and learning and developing the communication skills of the undergraduates. She completed her Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language at the Open University of Sri Lanka. Her research interests are academic writing, second language teaching and learning and sociolinguistic aspects of second language acquisition.

Sahdiya Hussain

MSc Applied Statistics (Colombo)

 Sahdiya Hussain possesses a BSc (Hons) degree with a First Class and a MSc Degree in Applied Statistics  from the University of Colombo. Her areas of expertise include Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science and Machine Learning along with a computational background.

Her professional career in academics began in 2009 as an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Physics at the University of Colombo, consequently exploring breadths and depths of teaching as a maths teacher for about five years after which she joined APIIT Sri Lanka as a Lecturer for Mathematics and Statistics for Foundation and Business undergraduate students. Her expertise lies in the areas of Numerical Skills, Quantitative Methods, Statistical Methods and a number of specific and generic software applications. Her passion is to inspire students to discover their purpose and potentials to become professional global citizens with intellectual capacity.

Nathali Seneviratne

Lecturer

BBMgt. (Marketing Special) (Kelaniya), MBA (West London)

Nathali Seneviratne graduated with a First Class Honours in Bachelor in Business Management (specialised in Marketing) from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She possesses a Masters degree from the University of West London, UK. During her undergraduate years, she was awarded as the second runner up of Jane M Klauseman Woman in Business Award for her outstanding academic and extracurricular performance.

Nathali joined APIIT Sri Lanka as a Lecturer in Marketing in 2016. Her teaching expertise lies in the subject areas of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Market Research, Strategic Marketing, Entrepreneurial Marketing, and Research Methodology. Nathali’s research interests broadly encompass the interrelated themes of ‘Consumer Ethnocentrism, Consumer Behaviour and Choice in a Retail Context.

She is a result-driven industry professional with more than four years of experience in marketing in the FMCG Industry; exposed in business strategic marketing, operations, research, sales management, advertising, and branding.

Zackiya Ashraf

Lecturer

Zackiya brings in over 17 years of expertise with a multi-faceted career in academia, information technology, career coaching, content creation and business development.

She started off her career with LSEG Technology in 2003 in Software Product Development Testing and progressed to the UK to join Roche Pharmaceuticals.  She joined APIIT Sri Lanka in 2010 as a Research & Development Manager and became an Academic in 2012 attached to the School of Computing and subsequently joining the Business School. Her teaching expertise lies in Professional Development, Information Systems Strategy and Project Management.

She is currently reading for a MPhil/PhD at Colombo University. Her research area is EdTech and Graduate Employability. She possesses a MBA from the University of Hertfordshire, UK and a Bachelors in IT from Bangalore University.

Vihanga Harshana

B.Com (Hons) (Entrepreneurship Special) (Kelaniya), Reading for MBA (Colombo)

Vihanga Jayasinghe a product of the University of Kelaniya who has specialized in Entrepreneurship in his first degree, brings versatility to the APIIT Business School with a drive and passion towards uplifting entrepreneurial skills among undergraduates at APIIT. After completing his first degree, Vihanga worked for John Keells Holding PLC engaging in projects and marketing implementations attached to John Keells Properties.

Vihanga is currently reading for his Master of Business Administration at University of Colombo and holds the associate membership at British Computer Society in United Kingdom.

His main research interests are in entrepreneurial networks. He currently lectures for Global Business Directions, Economics for Managers and Global Marketing Management modules along with research supervision for final year undergraduates at APIIT.

Himashi De Mel

Lecturer

Himashi De Mel is an academic known for her theories on management accounting, financial reporting and analysis, business strategy, operations management, and organisational behaviour. Prior joining APIIT, she served eight years as an academic in the Business Department of the Sri Lankan partner institution affiliated with Northumbria University (UK).

Himashi graduated from Northumbria University (UK) with a First-Class Honours in BA in Business Management, and she is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA- UK.) At present she is reading for her MBA in Technology Management from University of Moratuwa

In her career as an academic she headed the business academic department in period 2015 to 2016 and progressed herself to become a Senior Visiting Lecturer and a business consultant. Himashi stared her professional career at attune Consulting and later became an external business consultant in business strategy, operations, and finance in McQuire Rens Global Consulting Private Limited. Further, she served as an external financial analyst for Credit Source PTY LTD, Australia. Furthermore, she is an entrepreneur owning a luxury event planning business venture.

During her academic career she has taught number of modules ranging from business research methods to management accounting to organisational behaviour along with conducting research supervision on business management discipline. Further, she co-authored the first and second editions of Certificate in Business Management textbooks published by the Northumbria affiliated partner institute. Also, she researched on learning styles of the students and the match/mismatch about the teaching styles adopted by Sri Lankan academics. Her research interests are on teaching and learning in higher education sector and about capitalisation of technologies for strategic advantage of business organisations.

Dimanthinie Laleen De Silva

Senior Lecturer

Dimanthinie Laleen De Silva is a Senior Lecturer and a researcher in the field of Information technology and has industry experience as a Quality Assurance / Design Analyst of Sabre Member, MAS Holding Group of Companies. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing of APIIT Sri Lanka. She possesses several years of teaching experience as a Lecturer in the Department of IT, Faculty of Computing, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology and at Singapore Informatics, Sri Lanka. She also has experience as an IT Teacher at Royal Institute, Sri Lanka and at Holy Family Convent, Kalutara, Sri Lanka.

She possesses a BSc IT. (Hons) in Information Technology, P.G. Diploma in Information Management and MSc in Information Technology from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Sri Lanka. She is a member of the Sri Lanka Computer Society (CSSL). She was a Reviewer for the National Conference on Technology and Management (NCTM) research symposium organized by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (2014-2016) and for the International Journal of Computer Trends and Technology. Her teaching expertise lies in several areas and she has done several research papers.

Pushpanie Subasinghe

Senior Lecturer

Pushpanie Subasinghe obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA and her Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Mathematics specializing in Business, Finance and Computational Mathematics from the University of Colombo. Just after completing her undergraduate education she joined MAS Holdings as a Planning Executive. She then joined the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science at the University of Colombo as an Assistant Lecturer with the ambition of completing her postgraduate studies until she left the country for her Master’s degree.  

Upon successful completion of the Master’s degree she returned to Sri Lanka and joined APIIT in the capacity of a Lecturer. Over last 11 years she has been lecturing all mathematics and statistics related modules from foundation level to degree level. Currently she is a part time lecturer attached to the Computing School. Her research interests are in the field of optimization, financial mathematics.

Dinesh Asanka

Dinesh has Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and an MBA in Information Technology, Masters of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka. Currently, he has completed MPhil at the University of Moratuwa. He has over 20 years of experience at various organizations like Pearson (Lanka) and Virtusa on data technologies. He was Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for 10 years in Data Platform. He is a frequent speaker and columnist on Data warehouse, Machine Learning topic at many popular web sites/conferences / user groups.

Tharanga Peiris

Lecturer

Tharanga Peiris holds a First-Class Honours in BSc (hons) degree in Computing and a Merit Class in Post Graduate Diploma in Information Systems Management from the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), University of Colombo. She is a Lecturer with more than 10 years of working experience and a Researcher in Software Engineering. Currently, she is attached to School of Computing at Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) as a Lecturer. She has a strong background in various IT disciplines and mostly interested in teaching Business Analysis, Software Modeling and Project Management modules. She also serves as the Patron of Student Activity Club of APIIT. In the capacity of Patron, she provides visionary leadership for events in areas of Social, Sports and Community Services.

Before joining APIIT she worked as a Business Analyst at John Keells IT. As a Business Analyst she has project analysis experience in local and global fields of production, education, travel, finance and pharmaceuticals. She has also worked closely with software development, mobile development and offshore development teams.

Tilak De Silva

Lecturer

Tilak De Silva has more than 34 years of experience in the IT and Communication fields.  He has gained multi-disciplinary exposure in the fields of engineering, Information Technology and global telecom business; he has held the key positions of Head of IT, Head of Information Security, Chief Global Officer, Chief Network Officer, Advisor to CEO on Technology Strategies and Chief Business Innovation Officer at Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT). He has also held the position of CEO SLT Hong Kong which was a subsidiary of SLT. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Specializing in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering) from the University of Moratuwa and a Master of Science degree in Data Communication from Brunel University U.K. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered IT Professional.

Malsha Fernando

Malsha Fernando holds a BSc. in Management Information Systems (Hons.) from the University College of Dublin in Ireland, Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology from University of Colombo School of Computing and currently reading for a Masters in Computer Science – Business Computing from Staffordshire University UK. She commenced her career in the field of Vocational Training as an Instructor prior to joining APIIT, as a Lecturer in 2013.

Her vast knowledge in the field of Information Technology has reinforced her in lecturing the areas such as Java Programming, Object Oriented Concepts, Database Management Systems and Mobile Computing. Currently she teaches Software Engineering undergraduate students at APIIT in the fields of System Analysis and Design, Java Programming, Mobile Computing, System Modelling and Database Programming.

Malsha is passionate about human behavioral studies and assist students with much interest in grooming them to live their dream. Her other interests include special studying of human behavior and psychology. She finds herself to be a reader and movie and music lover in her leisure time.

Dr. Chathura Warnasuriya

Dr. Chathura Warnasuriya holds a Ph.D in Law from Brunel University London and an LLM in International Trade Law from the University of Wales Cardiff’s Institution. Whilst practicing in all areas of general commercial litigation, Dr. Warnasuriya has worked as an Associate at Global Solicitors, Wembley in the United Kingdom. He possesses experience in international business and commercial negotiations in countries across the Europe. His expertise is broadly in the areas of Corporate and Commercial laws, with particular emphasis on international trade finance. He is also an Attorney-at- Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka with over 19 years’ experience as a legal Counsel. He holds and has held a number of visiting academic appointments and has authored several works on Commercial and International Law. He is intensively involved in international fora and has given presentations and reports on contemporary legal issues at law symposiums held in many countries.

Sameera Silva

Lecturer

Sameera obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Law(LLB) from the University of Colombo in 2005. He is also an Attorney – at- Law and has been in active practice since 2007, specializing in Property Law and Real Estate matters.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA -UK) and a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

He has also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG, Two of the renowned international audit firms,  in Tax, Legal Services and Forensic Departments. He is a Toastmasters and a Past President of CIMA Toastmasters Club.

Nayantha Wijesundara

Lecturer

Nayantha is a practicing lawyer specializing mainly in the areas of Constitutional Law, Human Rights Law and Criminal Law. Having previously been a State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Department, Nayantha has experience in both the official and unofficial Bar.

Nayantha holds a LLM on Advanced Studies in Public International Law from Leiden University, and a LLM from University of Colombo where he focused on Public Law. He also possesses a LLB from University of London. Additionally, he holds a post graduate diploma in Conflict & Peace Studies from the University of Colombo.

He is an experienced lecturer having functioned as a visiting lecturer and resource person in several state universities and private institutions. Additionally, Nayantha has a number of publications including peer reviewed research papers in international and Sri Lankan law journals dealing with issues pertaining to International Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Human Rights Law. He is also the author of a book encompassing a multi- disciplinary study of the executive presidential system in Sri Lanka entitled “Whither or Whether the Executive Presidency: A Study in the Light of Separatism”, which is an expansion of his research for which the Law College Foundation Legal Research Prize was awarded in the year 2009.

His research interests are many and wide-ranging as they include international relations, public international law, international human rights law, transitional justice and peace-building in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan political conflict and constitutional law. In his spare time, Nayantha enjoys reading post-colonial South Asian authors, and experimenting in the kitchen.

Nayantha has been part of APIIT Law School since 2016, and he lectures on Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights, and Introduction to the Law of Evidence.

Indira Ratwatte

Lecturer

Indira Ratwatte graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo and subsequently took oaths as an Attorney- at- Law. She completed the Master’s degree in Law also from the University of Colombo. She worked as a Senior Legal Executive at Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC for a period of three years and taught at Ladies’ College, Colombo for a period of six years, whilst also functioning as the Deputy Sectional Head of the London Advanced Level Division.

Anusha Wickramasinghe

Lecturer

Anusha Wickramasinghe is a PhD candidate in air law at the International Institute of Air and Space Law, Leiden University, the Netherlands. Anusha obtained her LL.B. Degree from the Open University of Sri Lanka in 2002 and hold a LL.M. from McGill University, Canada. She is an attorney-at-law. Anusha has over 12 years of teaching experience in the field of law at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Anusha’s research interests in include air law, space law, shipping law, public international law and commercial law. She has published several journal articles on various issues concerning air law.

Taniya Rajapakse

Lecturer – APIIT Law School 

Mrs. Taniya Rajapakse is a full time lecturer at APIIT Law School and has been a faculty member since 2020. She holds a Master of Sciences degree in Human Resource Management and Development from the University of Salford (UK). And is also an alumna of APIIT Sri Lanka, where she earned her LLB (Hons.) degree offered by the Staffordshire University. Taniya specializes in teaching English criminal and contract law. She received her primary education from Maliyadeva Girls Collage Kurunegala. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering in social service.

Shalindi Gallage

Lecturer – APIIT Law School 

Shalindi currently works as a Full-Time Lecturer in the Law School at APIIT. She is a lecturer of Law as well as a lecturer in the NCUK program. She currently lectures in the fields of International Business law, English Legal systems and Sociology. She implemented the Gavel club in the law school. Shalindi is a Double degree holder in the fields of Law and International Relations. She holds a qualifying law Degree (QLD-LLB) with a second class honors from University of London and holds a BA (Bachelor of Arts) second upper division specialized degree from University of kelaniya (Internal). She is currently reading for her Masters (LLM) in International business law from the University of Staffordshire. She is also qualified in CAE affiliated to the university of Cambridge. She also holds an English Diploma from the Royal Institute Department of English Colombo as well as a Diploma in computer studies (DICS). She has been an all Island winner for public speaking and was a finalist at the biggest inter university speech competition best speaker 2019.She also published and presented a policy paper on the topic peace Reconciliation of Ugenda at the Youth Conference on International Relations held at University of Kelaniya.   

Natasha Wijeyesekera

Lecturer – APIIT Law School 

Natasha currently works as a Part-Time Lecturer at the Law School of Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT). At APIIT, Natasha has been teaching and tutoring Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Law in Context, Introduction to Law and Legal English.  

She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the inaugural APIIT Law Journal, the Patron of the Moot, Debate and Mock Mediation Society, and the Co-Leader of the English Language Centre of APIIT, an initiative of the APIIT Life Pillar.  

Natasha holds an LL. B (hons.) degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo and is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.  

During her time as an undergraduate, she has rendered research assistance for the preparation of a training curriculum and manual for law enforcement officials on ‘Child Trafficking’ and a baseline survey, report and presentation on ‘Child Marriage during the war and the post-war context in the North and East of Sri Lanka’. 

She also works as a Defence Counsel at the Chambers of a President’s Counsel.  

Natasha’s current research interests lie in Comparative Constitutional law, Environmental Constitutionalism, Gender and Women’s Rights and Transitional Justice.

Nadana Thanasi Konara

Lecturer – APIIT Law School 

Nadana obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honors from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo in 2018. She took oaths as an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2020. Currently she is reading for her master’s degree in Law from University of Colombo specializing in Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, and ICT Law.  

She has worked in diverse working environments including International, Government & Private Sector. During her time as an undergraduate, she has worked in the capacity of a Research assistant at International Water Management Institute under the projects of “City Regional Food Systems “and “Managing Rural –Urban Linkages”. Before Joining APIIT Law School She was the Legal Officer at Orel IT (Pvt) Ltd & the Legal Consultant at Ceylon Fishery Harbours Corporation. 

Her research interests include International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, Environmental Law, ICT law & Gender justice. She is also a published author in legal research in the areas of Human Rights, Gender Justice, Environmental law, ICT Law and Water Security.

Lara Anishka Nanayakkara

Lara Anishka Nanayakkara obtained her LLB with Honours from the University of Warwick, UK in 2019. She is currently in the process of completing her Attorney at Law examination from Sri Lanka Law College. Additionally, Lara is completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK.   

During her time as an undergraduate, she participated in many debating competitions, internal mooting competitions, internal negotiation competitions and Witness Examination Competitions. Whilst Lara was studying in England she also conducted and managed an annual university project for The Times UK.  

Lara is currently part of the University of Warwick Global Alumni Group as well as Warwick Mentoring group. She has also interned at a few law firms in Colombo, namely Nithi Murugesu & Associates LLP, De Silva Jayasuriya LLP and F J & G De Sarams LLP to further her knowledge and experience of the practise.

Fathima Hafsa Abdul Hudha

Mrs Hafsa Hudha is an attorney-at-law who graduated from Staffordshire University with an LLB (Hons.). She is currently reading for her Master of Business Studies at the University of Colombo. In addition, she holds a Diploma in Foreign Affairs from the BIDTI awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At present, Mrs Hudha is attached to the corporate division of D.L. & F. De Saram, a tier-one legal firm and, she had completed her apprenticeship at Nithya Partners. 

Mrs Hudha is someone who is environmentally conscious and spent her pioneering years as a legal consultant to Environmental Foundation Limited. She was involved in dialogue with the government, civil society organisations and communities to promote environmental conservation efforts and policy reform. In furtherance of her passion for environmental conservation, she is currently attached to the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Mrs Hudha is an avid contributor to the literature — she has authored books, contributed to publications and research papers, and presented her work in international conferences. She is also a national mooter. 

Mrs Hafsa is a believer in diversified knowledge and her primary values are woven around the willingness to learn, the foresight that everything can be fixed, and empathy towards humans and the planet alike.

Sunil D.B. Abeyaratne (Justice of Peace and Unofficial Magistrate) enrolled as an Attorney-at-law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1986. He holds LL.M (Queen Mary College of University of London), MBA (Indira Gandhi National Open University) and Diploma in Forensic Medicine, Science and Toxicology (Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo). He is a PRIME graduate (International trainer) of Junior Chamber International.

He is a practicing Attorney-at-Law in the fields of civil, commercial and criminal law and a Commercial Arbitrator. He is a visiting lecturer and examiner of Sri Lanka Law College, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Medicine of University of Colombo, Department of Law of University of Peradeniya and Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), APIIT Law School, ICBT campus, National Police Training School of Sri Lanka and NIBM on ICT Law and related subjects. He is also a lecturer and examiner of the Institute for development of Commercial Laws & Practices (ICLP) and the Arbitration Centre of Kandy (TACK) on Commercial and Construction Arbitration Law.

He has been appointed as a researcher of China-South Asia Law Research Centre, Yunnan University, Kunming. He addressed on law relating to Electronic funds Transferring in China and other countries at the Conference organised by All China Law Society and addressed at the training program of regional lawyers held in Kunming in 2017. He was a speaker of the Belt and Road session at the LAWASIA Business Law Conference in Manila, March 2019.

He was instrumental to strengthen relationship between LAWASIA and BASL organising LAWASIA ICT Law Conference 2008 and LAWASIA Business Law Conference 2010 in Colombo heading the organising committees of the BASL. He served as LAWASIA Vice President (2015-2016), Exco member (2010 – 2015), Country Councillor / Alternate Councillor (2006-2010) and Acting Country Councillor (2017). Mr.Abeyaratne headed the sessions committee of the POLA Summit held in Colombo, 2017 and represented the President, BASL at the POLA Conference held in August 2018, Canberra.

He has presented over 100 conference & seminar papers at National and International Conferences including LAWASIA annual, IT Law and Employment Law Conferences, 800th Anniversary celebration of Magna Carta (representing LAWASIA), IBA Conferences and contributed many articles to leading local and international law journals and to the Sri Lankan press on ICT law, Intellectual Property Rights and employment law. He authored the book titled “Introduction to ICT Law”. He is the Chief Editor of “the Business Lawyer” and the Law and Management annual journal.

Currently, he holds the positions of Co-Chair of Data Protection, Communication and Technology Committee and Secretary of the Employment Law Committee of LAWASIA, Chairman of the IT Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, Bar Council member of BASL, and Exco member of Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka as the Representative of law.

He is also the chairman of the Arbitration Centre of Kandy, the Institute of Legal and Management Studies in Sri Lanka and ICT Lawyers’ Guild of Sri Lanka. He was the Secretary of the BASL (2006-2008) and member of the Incorporated Council of Legal Education in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Harsha Widanapathirana

Harsha Widanapathirana possesses a LL.B from the University of Peradeniya (2016), a LLM in International Business specializing in Information Technology and Intellectual Property from the Cardiff Metropolitan University (2021) and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (Cima- UK). He took oaths as an Attorney-at-Law of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in 2018 and has been engaged in the profession as an instructing attorney cum lecturer in law. He joined APIIT as a visiting lecturer in 2019 and is currently attached to the law school as a part-time lecturer in law. He is conducting lectures in a number of private and governmental higher education institutions under various capacities and shares an interest in research areas such as commercial law, family law, environmental law, legal theory and has publications on commercial law and environmental law. G.K Kiruli Ransalu is an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. She is also a Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths, and a Registered Company Secretary.  

She is an LL.B graduate from the Department of Law, University of Peradeniya. She has successfully completed her LL.B degree with honours (Second Class -Upper Division). She was selected as a scholarship recipient for the LL.M programme by the Penn State Law-Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A based on her outstanding academic performance and professional affiliations. Dr. Hasuli teaches a number of modules across different levels. These include Human Capital Management for first-year students, Managing Across Cultures for second-year students, and Authentic Leadership, Business Ethics, and Change and Transformation for final-year Business students.Prior to joining APIIT, she was Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead of the MSc in Business and Organisational Psychology degree awarded by Coventry University at its partner institute in Sri Lanka.

Her primary research focuses on the employee-organization relationship in the international context, with a particular focus on psychological contracts and expatriate management. Having completed his first degree in the field of Economics at Peradeniya University in 1979 he joined NIBM as a Lecturer and progressed to the Director Management Development at NIBM, where he served until 2007.

He obtained a post graduate diploma in Regional Industrial Development in 1984 from RVB in the Netherlands and a post graduate diploma in Economics from the University of Colombo in 1985. He obtained his Masters in Economics in 1992. He has participated in a number of training workshops abroad and has also contributed his services as a Management Consultant during his career at NIBM. 

During the period 2001 to 2003, he had the opportunity to work as the Deputy Director – Monitoring & Evaluation and Management Information Systems in a World Bank funded project implemented by Ministry of Housing and Plantation Infrastructure.

Ms. Lakmali  is a senior finance professional  progressed  from Audit junior to Group CFO over the last 20 years working for large multinationals both in  local and overseas including PwC, KPMG, Mitsubishi Motors,  Al Mansoori Group (UAE), Etisalat (UAE),  Hayleys Plc, WNS and Hunters Plc.

Her professional experience spanned through   accounting & finance, budgeting and cost control, taxation, auditing, treasury management, developing and implementing financial controls and processes, team building and development, mentoring and coaching.

She has been a visiting lecturer of PIM International Centers Dubai & Qatar and  Executive MBA of University of Colombo, visiting lecturer of Etisalat Academy- UAE, resource person of Forensic Accounting program of CA Sri Lanka and resource person of Management Development Program of PIMA . Currently she is a lecturer at APIIT business school.

Dr. Renuka Herath is a senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Marketing Management, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She has about 15 years’ experience in teaching at the same university. She concluded her first degree in Marketing Management securing the Gold Medal for the highest GPA in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya.  She obtained her Masters degree in Business Administration with a Merit pass from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, Sri Lanka.  She then completed her PhD in Supply Chain Management from the Newcastle University, United Kingdom. Her research interests lie in the areas of Supply Chain Management, SMEs, Logistics Management, Six Sigma and fashion industries.
