Dr. Kumudu Ekanayaka is a dedicated psychotherapist and academic with over a decade of experience in clinical and educational settings. Her academic research, including her MPhil and PhD, has focused on the use of creative psychotherapy to address emotional regulation and behavioral issues in youth. With over ten years of experience as a visiting lecturer, Dr. Ekanayaka has taught a wide range of subjects including Abnormal Psychology, Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology, and Business Psychology at both local and international universities.
She currently serves as a Consulting Psychotherapist at Nawaloka Medical Center and is the Founder and Director of the Institutions of Psychotherapeutic Arts (IOPA), where she leads initiatives focused on mental health and creative Psychotherapy.
Her academic and professional expertise is matched by her dynamic role as a corporate trainer. For more than 12 years, she has designed and delivered training programs in employee motivation, stress management, and well-being development across various organizations.
Dr. Ekanayaka is also a recognized resource person for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing her knowledge to global health and workplace well-being initiatives.
Combining clinical practice, academic teaching, research, and organizational training, Dr. Kumudu Ekanayaka continues to make impactful contributions to the fields of psychology and psychotherapy, both locally and internationally.
