Himasha Gunasekara is a researcher and an Online Assessment support Advisor in Future Learning and Development at University of Canterbury, New Zealand. She is also a PhD candidate soon to be graduated from University of Canterbury and a former academic at The Open University of Sri Lanka. Her research interests include qualitative research approaches, digital learning, creative education and future learning strategies. She has also actively involved in some of the local and national research projects across New Zealand. In addition to research and teaching she is actively engaging as a student and staff well-being supporter and podcaster at Plains FM, Canterbury, New Zealand. Outside academic pursuits, she is a surfer and a tennis player.
