The APU Doctor of Business Administration has a unique digital emphasis, positioned as a technology-infused leadership programme that focuses on future-proofing leaders in a highly volatile and uncertain future. Each module is developed in collaboration with industry, covering FinTech, Economics, Digital Thinking, Leadership, Data Science, Digital Business Transformation, and Marketing — each shaped through partnerships with organisations such as MyFin, UKRI, Startup Malaysia, IMechE-UK, SAS Institute (USA), TIBCO (USA), and the Marketing Research Society of Malaysia.

The programme is designed for executives, professionals and leaders preparing for digital transformation. It applies innovation and technology to problem-solving guided by Design Thinking, incorporates real-world coaching and an entrepreneurial outlook, and includes thought-leadership sessions delivered by academic staff and industry partners.

The DBA prepares candidates to address the challenges of an increasingly Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) digitalised world. It sharpens decision-making, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, and strengthens research capability for strategic formulation, policy formation, and organisational risk assessment. The programme has been endorsed by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) to enhance and progress existing business knowledge and to build analytical skills for complex, contemporary business issues.
