Himashi De Mel is a Senior Lecturer at APIIT Business School and is currently reading for her PhD at the University of Colombo. She holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Moratuwa, where she was the top performer of her graduating cohort, and a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management from Northumbria University, UK. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA, UK).

With over a decade of experience in higher education, Himashi has held academic and leadership roles encompassing teaching, academic management, research and quality assurance. Her academic and research interests include organisational behaviour, innovation, strategy, contemporary management and workplace research, with her doctoral research focusing on Generation Z workplace expectations and the psychological contract.

Her professional development in higher education includes the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE) from the University of Colombo, a SEDA qualification (UK) and the ISaLTY academic staff development qualification from APIIT.

In addition to her academic responsibilities, Himashi serves as the Management Representative for ISO 21001, contributing to educational quality management and continuous institutional improvement at APIIT. Her professional background also includes experience in business consulting and financial analysis, complementing her academic practice with industry exposure.
