Sahdiya Hussain possesses a BSc (Hons) degree with a First Class and a MSc Degree in Applied Statistics from the University of Colombo. Her areas of expertise include Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science and Machine Learning along with a computational background.
Her professional career in academics began in 2009 as an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Physics at the University of Colombo, consequently exploring breadths and depths of teaching as a maths teacher for about five years after which she joined APIIT Sri Lanka as a Lecturer for Mathematics and Statistics for Foundation and Business undergraduate students. Her expertise lies in the areas of Numerical Skills, Quantitative Methods, Statistical Methods and a number of specific and generic software applications. Her passion is to inspire students to discover their purpose and potentials to become professional global citizens with intellectual capacity.
