Law School Staff

APIIT Law School has a highly qualified and competent panel of lectures. The fulltime staff is supplemented by experienced visiting lectures with industry experience. The highly committed teaching team goes above and beyond the call of duty to make certain that every student receives individual attention and support.

'Dr. Kushanthi Harasgama joined APIIT Law School as a senior lecturer, and currently, she also functions as the Award Coordinator of the Law School . Kushanthi obtained her PhD in law from Monash University, Australia, her LLM from Deakin University, Australia and her B.A. (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Kelaniya. Kushanthi is also an attorney-at-law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
She has received numerous awards and scholarships for her studies including the Monash Law School Foundation Scholarship, the Monash Graduate Scholarship, and the Australian Post-Graduate Award. She has worked in the legal field for a number of years in the capacities of a lecturer, researcher and a practitioner. Before joining APIIT Law School, Kushanthi taught law at the Law School of Monash University, Australia. Currently, she teaches Contract Law, Criminal Law, Law of Sale, and Export and International Trade Law. She is also the module leader for Dissertation and Research Project modules. Her research interests are in the areas of legal theory, criminal law, anti-terrorism law and human rights.'
Shashini obtained her LL.B. with Honours from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. During her time as an undergraduate she served as the Editor of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law and participated in moot court competitions such as the Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition and the National Law School of India Arbitration Moot. Thereafter she obtained her LLM in International Business and Commercial Law from the University of West London.
Shashini completed her Attorney-at-Law examinations from the Sri Lanka Law College and apprenticed at the Attorney General’s Department of Sri Lanka. She took Oaths as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2015.
Before joining APIIT Shashini worked as the Programme Coordinator and the Administrative Secretary at the ICLP Arbitration Centre. She was responsible for handling the institutional arbitrations under ICLP rules which included international arbitrations and organizing awareness programmes and professional courses on commercial arbitration.
Shashini’s research interests include Intellectual Property Law, Commercial Arbitration, and Commercial Law. She joined APIIT Law School in 2015 and teaches Tort Law and Law in Context.
Sameera obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of Colombo and is an Attorney – at- Law. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA -UK) and a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He is practitioner of civil law, mainly focusing on property matters. He is a past president of CIMA Toastmasters Club and was a member of the Member Development Committee of CIMA Sri Lanka.
